KAROLY TAKACS
Today i am going to tell you about an Idol whose name is KAROLY TAKACS, some of you already know who is he and what he did in his life but i bet many of you don't know. He is not just a man but also an idol for me. His back story gave me so much hope and confidence about life. Let me share with you his back story and what message he gave to new generation.
His name is Karoly Takacs, he was born on 21st January 1910 in Hungary, his favorite game was shooting and he loved shooting. But back in 1938 he became the best pistol shooter of country and won most of the major national and international championships. His dream was to win the 1940 Tokyo, Olympic gold medal and that was his only dream and the focused of his life to win this Olympic, for which he had practiced for years because he wanted to make his hand the best shooting hand in the world.
In 1938, there was an Army training going on , so he went there for training but on that day during training an unfortunate accident happened, One hand grenade exploded in Karoly's hand his shooting hand and in a sudden moment all of his dreams turned into dust that grenade ended up his Olympic dream as well, the only goal of his life.
Now i want you guys to take a pause here and think and imagine what if you were there on his place and the same thing has happened with you what will be your next move? and i can bet my life here 90% of you guys will try to commit suicide or try to hide yourself from the world and you will be shocked if i tell you what he did after losing his best shooting hand of the world.
He also had two ways, he would have chosen to knee down to life and cry for the rest of his life or he would have focus back on his dreams with a small light of hope, So after one year treatment of his right hand. He stand forward and secretly practiced on his left hand and guess what in 1939 Karoly went to a national shooting championship and his colleagues were delighted to see him and complemented him on his courage to come up at the championship to cheer for them but he answered that he is nit there to cheer for them but to compete them everyone was shocked nobody know that he was practicing on his left hand to make his left hand the best shooting hand of the universe and he was there to compete them with his only hand, he had practiced for complete one year and he won that championship.And the thing i learned from here that he focused on what he had not on what he has lost. But he didn't stop there remember his focused was to become the best shooting hand of the world and for that he has to win the Olympics gold medal so he started training again with his only hand and he concentrated his whole energy on 1940 Olympics but 1940 Olympics got cancelled due to world war 2 but he didn't stopped there and so he concentrated and trained again for 1944 Olympics but unfortunately they got cancelled too due to war again. It was hard to see his Olympics dream fade away like a dust but he prepared himself again for 1948 Olympics at that time he was 28 years of age in 1938 and in 1948 he was 38 years old and you know it was hard to compete with the new young talent but that didn't stop him, he went there. Best shooters from all over the world were competing with their best hands and he was the only one competing with his only hand. And the man with the only hand WON. He accomplished his dream not easily but smartly. And he become the best pistol shooter of the world and he also won the 1952 Olympics and changed the HISTORY.
